Walking around

One of my favorite activities in my free time maybe is a little boring, but I really enjoy walking and get lost in the city (obviously having my cellphone charged and with the internet OK, because most of the time I have to check google maps). I usually do it when I have some free time at the university and I just go to walk I the near places to after comeback. However, sometimes I like to do it nearly my house and sometimes I have to take a bus and go home. I think that the reasons of that I enjoy so much this is because I can distract myself and know new places to go again. Because, in my opinion, this “hobby” is forgotten by the people, I mean that most of us can have so much free time and we are always hurry (going to this place and vice versa), so I think that it is a really good alternative to think and have some personal time. For example, one day I have a lot of free time and I didn´t have nothing to do, so I started to walk near the Universidad de Chile train station, and i

This new show

Hi, today I wanted to talk about a new animated show released in the Netflix platform called Hilda Is a show based on a graphic novel and is for kids. It talks about a little girl that used to live in the woods and by some reasons, she has to move to the city and has to find a way to “survive” to this boring new place but at the end, she make good friends and enjoy the new home. The most interesting things about this series is the mythological content, I talk about giants, trolls, spirits, etc. I think that has a very good written story, and the art is very good looking. The characters has they own personality and are very funny, the entrance of new character and how they intertwine in the story is not abrupt as some others stories. Personally, my most favorite character is the Woodman, because is the type of person who is ironical and funny, so I think that I enjoy him because it´s more “adult” than “child”. In addition, I love her little pet called Twig who is a mix of

My ideal job

I didn´t really thought about my ideal job. I don´t really like to think about the future because I always get in panic, but since I was a kid I always liked to draw and I think that the job that I would enjoy is illustration (obviously after been architect). Since I was very young, I always liked to draw very different things, and I always admire those people who can share his art and continue progressing in his skills and own worlds. The job is about what it says in the name, many people work illustrating many things and the principal means is in books. Few years ago, I meet someone who is an illustrator and it doesn´t need to have a hard study to do it. I mean that you could have the studies (or a career) in other area and if you are able to understand the message and the content of the thing you want to illustrate, you can do the job. I refer that because the illustrator I meet was a teacher and now she´s working illustrating children´s book. I think that the biggest re

Environment

I think that it´s very important thinking about our planet and the consequences of the things that we are doing to it. I don´t really think that I´m an eco-friendly person, but I always try to respect every environment and the animals. As for example, I try to keep all my garbage until I get to the ideal trash can (also my cigarette fag end). However, I think that the most alarming thing is the weather In Santiago. I mean, the past day we have a rainy day and the past 2 days we have a very warm day, I think that we need to have a concrete response to this phenomenon. The past month, I read that we are the last generation that could make something to mend what we are doing to Earth so it is very disturbing fact to us. In Chile, even though the plastic bags were not anymore in use (in the case of the supermarkets) and that the fast food´s stores prohibited giving more plastic until you ask (for example, if you order a drink or a coffee, the worker can give you a straw if you no

Reading

I’m not a reading person, but I remember reading “The Lost Symbol” by Dan Brown. This is a thriller and a sequel for his most famous book “The Da Vinci Code”. This book is about a professor and iconographer called Robert Langdon, who has to travel to Washington DC to resolve the death of a personal friend, who was murdered by a secret reason and his body was leaved in a specific location whit a specific posture. However, the murder was a person who was obsessed to being the perfect person (to become a god), also he was an ex mason, so he started to get inked in all the spaces in his skin with different every symbol of the world, when he was almost finished he realized that it was missing one. And only the masons knew it. By the end, this guy suicided himself to dispose of his body to becomes perfect, but he never founded the real secret symbol. And I couldn´t end the book because the symbol was just a normal phrase about religion and all the mystery of the book died with this char

My favourite places in my childhood

When I was a child, my dad took me every weekend to different places (sometimes they repeated but I didn´t bother me). In addition, I won’t say that I remember all of those, so I´m going to talk about those I remember the most (and I return until today) One of my favorite places in life was the Artequin Museum, it placed next to the Quinta Normal Park. I personally think that it is a place to visit once, because his tour was always the same, I mean, in that route you have to see a movie about a ballerina statue in the museum (like the picture) who becomes alive in the and talks to the different paintings and his stories. Other place near of the Artequin was the Santiago´s Library, and I remember that I spend many time reading books in those cones in the section of children’s. I don´t really remember that I used the computer (because I was very shy). My last favorite place in mi childhood was the Plaza Brazil (in that time I called “La plaza del volcán”) because i

Something that I enjoyed in school

When I was in my 3rd years in secondary school, I had to choose one of the five electives in school. Therefore, I picked one called Bachillerato de Humanidades, and one of the subjects was Literary English. I remember that was taught by a person who we called Flanders (like the Simpson´s character), just because he was always wearing sweaters and glasses, and because he used to have a mustache. His personality was a little different to the character personality, he was always cheerful and making jokes. I think that I liked that subject most by the teacher and his willingness, because in all the year that the course he wanted to we learned well, so he always was in the stand to help. Also, I liked the topics that we deal with (tales, poems, music and plays), so we read various interesting texts. One of the things that was harder for me, was interpreting poems and music, because I´m not really good interpreting people so it was going to be harder to do it with someone you don´t k

By 10 years...

When I meet Cony we were like 7 years old , I meet her in the school when she was my new classmate, but we only started to be good friends when we were 9, just (I don´t really know why) and since that year we were always good friends. I don´t really have like concrete memories about those years, but I remember that we always were doing something stupid and talking about everything. She always take care of me as I taken for her, and if one of us were having a bad mood or in a personal conflict, we always noticed that. I remember that every time that she was sad, she always said to me “please, don´t hug me or I’ll cry”, but I didn´t really care about that, however, all the times we both ended crying. Hopefully, by the years we were always classmates and she always make my days very happy. By the years, we were meting other amazing persons and we still have contact, but because of ours new schedules, I saw her like three times in the year. This picture was taken after

Fiestas Patrias

Almost a month ago we celebrated our national holidays (fiestas patrias) and mine was like a fail. This year with my family decided to travel to the south of the country (near Los Angeles city) and I invited my bf, and everything was ok until we were going to start leaving Santiago. The first problem was that a guy broke a window of my house, so we were having to wait like 2 hours to go (we were going in car), and we arrived like at 2:00 AM to the place we were going to stay the week, I was dead. The first day it was all ok, but at the second day the weather changed completely, it started to rain for like 4 days and we didn’t go out, but we can go to buy alcohol. When it stops raining we finally could go to a natural reserve (national park Laguna del Laja) and everything was cover by snow and we go to do a track in there. So, my national holidays are always very normal, I didn´t wanted to go to fondas or places like that because I don´t really liked, I think that they are e

A little bit of myslef

Hi :),  My name is Isidora Camilla. I´m first year student in the architecture career. I´m 18 years old and I always lived in Santiago. Personally, I think that for an introduction of myself I don´t really like to talk about my school life, not because I was a horrible student, just because I do not want to represent my life by my grades. My hobbies are drawing, knitting and I really like going to walk in the center of the center of Santiago. I usually do not use emoji unless minimum cases, in general I use the keyboard to make them, for example the happy smile (or sad smile) .Also I really like the animals, since I have memory I always like petting animals. It could be very weird, but I always love a type of animal by periods, for example, last year I wanted to have like a pet a rat (kind of lab rat, like pinky and the brain. Therefore, this is a little piece of the things that I wanted to share to us :9
